Class Action Lawsuit Challenges UPS Race Discrimination

On October 8, 2024, Gordon Flowers filed a lawsuit challenging UPS’s policy of not delivering packages to his Staten Island apartment, bringing claims for himself and others. The case, Flowers v. United Parcel Service (E.D.N.Y. 24-cv-07086), alleges that UPS is violating New York laws against race discrimination, because the company delivers packages to similar, nearby buildings that are majority white, but not to the buildings Mr. Flowers lives in, which are mostly Black and Hispanic according to census data.
