Class Action Challenges JetBlue Discrimination Against Disabled Employees

02/05/2025
Christopher Torres, a Bronx resident, filed a federal class action against JetBlue. The Complaint alleges that JetBlue has a discriminatory policy of refusing to consider reasonable accommodations for disabled employees, for anything it dubs an essential work function. This policy, the Complaint states, violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar New York laws.

Torres filed the case to represent all of JetBlue’s disabled employees in New York who are subject to the challenged policy. The case asks the Court to order JetBlue to change the policy, and to re-process accommodation claims for the class.

Maia Goodell at Vladeck, Raskin & Clark P.C. is lead counsel for Torres and the proposed class. JetBlue employees in New York who have disabilities may be in the proposed class and can reach her at mgoodell@vladeck.com, 212-403-7300.

The Complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, No. 25-cv-00634.
