Anne C. Vladeck

Partner Emerita

Until her retirement on January 1, 2022, Anne C. Vladeck was a partner at Vladeck, Raskin & Clark, P.C. where she focused her practice on employment matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, defamation, union-side labor law, and litigation.
In addition to having been an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University Law School, Ms. Vladeck was the President of the Federal Bar Council Inn of Court, a trustee of the Federal Bar Foundation, and a member of the Professional Discipline Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ms. Vladeck received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. She has previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Fordham and Cardozo Law Schools.

She regularly speaks on employment law and related topics at the Practising Law Institute, ALI/ABA, ABA, NYSBA, and N.Y.U. Conference, among others.

Representative Matters

Della Pietra v. Poly Prep, et al.
First case to recognize a private right of action for whistleblower retaliation under New York’s Non-Profit Revitalization Act. The matter was resolved shortly after the firm successfully defended a motion to dismiss.

Browne Sanders v. Madison Square Garden, Isiah Thomas, and James Dolan
The jury ruled in plaintiff’s favor on her claims of sexual harassment and retaliation and awarded $11.6 million in punitive damages. The case settled before the district court ruled on plaintiff’s claim for lost wages and benefits.

Whittlesey v. Union Carbide Corp.
Established the right of a plaintiff to recover “front pay” under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act in the Second Circuit Court. Also defined “key employee” under that statute.
